About the course
The Proqual Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Formwork covers a wide range of topics essential in the industry, including health and safety, working at heights, using hand and power tools, interpreting drawings and specifications, and working with different types of formwork systems.
Throughout the course, learners are required to complete a range of practical assessments, written assignments, and observation statements to demonstrate their skills and understanding of the subject matter. They also receive regular feedback and support from one of our assessors who guides them through the course materials and ensure they meet the required standards.
This qualification will enable learners to apply for a range of job roles in the industry including Formwork Carpenter, Construction Operative and Site Supervisor. With our assessors' guidance and support, learners will be able to confidently apply their skills and knowledge to various roles in the industry.
Course content
To achieve the qualification candidates must complete the eight Mandatory units.
Mandatory units:
- Confirming work activities and resources for an occupational work area in the workplace
- Developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships in the workplace
- Confirming the occupational method of work in the workplace
- Erecting and striking timber and proprietary formwork in the workplace
- Constructing, maintaining and repairing complex timber and proprietary formwork in the workplace
- Erecting and striking timber and proprietary formwork for complex structures in the workplace
- Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
- Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace
Eligibility criteria
The course is designed for anyone who is in employment and has the right to work in the UK.
Our assessors carry out an initial evaluation of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment.
